U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kenneth J. Fairfax tagged the version of the U.S. being behind terrorist attacks in Kazakhstan as groundless. The statement was made during an online-conference at Tengrinews.kz. “Such statements are groundless. The United States strongly condemn terrorism and violence. We actively and successfully cooperate with Kazakhstan government in countering terrorism. The results of such cooperation considerably increased security and protection of Kazakhstan population,” the Ambassador said. He also told about the U.S. policy on Kazakhstan. “At the most fundamental level the U.S. policy on Kazakhstan is as follows: we actively support development of safe, protected and prospering Kazakhstan that will serve its residents and play an active and positive role in the global community,” the diplomat stated. On October 31 two blasts happened next to Atyrau oblast administration building and city prosecution office. One of the bombs was activated by a suicide bomber. The next terrorist attack happened in Taraz: on November 12 a jihadist committed several attacks on police officers. The accident claimed lives of 7 people, including 5 officers. The criminal blew himself up during apprehension. Later many Internet users and some experts expressed their opinions that foreign powers and the U.S. in particular are behind the events in Atyrau and Taraz saying that is could allegedly be in the interests of Washington to destabile the situation in Kazakhstan.
